I have been using St. Ives products for some time now, I have used most of their product line including lotions, face washes, and body washes. I have very rarely come across a product of theirs that I don’t like. Please read my other reviews on St. Ives Products if you are interested.

St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter, smells slightly like suntan lotion to me. That is not a bad scent though, reminds me of my youth, spending summers on Cape Cod. The wash is a beige/light tan color. This product is marketed towards those with extra dry skin as moisturizing body wash. A steamy shower and a good smelling product make for a delightful shower!

The product also states that it is made in the USA, contains pure Swiss glacial water and Swiss botanicals. These added ingredients are supposedly for moisturizing, nourishing, and anti-oxidants.

The product comes out kind of thick, but lathers into a wonderful sudsy fluff. To me lather equals cleanliness, if I can see my soap doing the work, then it moust be doing so.

I use my body wash the old fashioned way by using it on my bare hands. Sometimes I’ll use bath sponges or poofs. It leaves a light scent on your skin the rest of the day and doesn’t suck the moisture out of your skin like some other washes.

Sure you can spend twice the amount at those pricey stores or you could spend less on something that actually works and is readily available, you decide!

The 13.5 ounce bottle is available at most big named drugstores and retailers such as Wal-Mart. It retails for about $3-$4. Which if you know anything about body wash is relatively inexpensive for something that smells that good in comparison to the bigger stores that specialize in those products. The 13.5 ounce bottle lasts me approximately a month and a half, I shower every day of the week, sometimes twice a day. So it does go a long way.

Ingredients: Water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidoproyl betaine, glycol stearate, fragrance, sodium chloride, hydropopyl guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, dmdm hydantoin, hexyl cinnamal, disodium edta, citric acid, benzyl salicylate, polyquaternium-7, limonene, yellow 10 (CI 47005), red 40 (CI 16035), Butyrospermum park II (shea butter), propylene glycol, blue 1 (CI 42090), colloidal oatmeal, sorbitol, samucus nigra flower extract, primula veris extract, helianthus annuus (sunflower) extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract.
