The method company, widely touted by environmental lifestyle expert Danny Seo and the PETA (along with many others) for their innovative “fight against dirty”, is one of my favorites…and their cucumber scent has a lot to do with that. My home always smells faintly of light, fresh scent of of cucumber now, and as a cat owner I am 100% for that.
The cucumber-scented dish soap is a particular favorite of mine. It has transformed my dish washing experience. This soap is naturally derived and infused with vitamin e and aloe, so dishpan hands are a thing of the past. In fact, I find the soapy water to be pretty soothing, and the combination of warm water and light, yummy fragrances is pure genius. Washing dishes has never been more spa-like.
The soap is also super concentrated, so it lasts forever. All method product bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic, so when you do finally use up the last drop of soap you can toss the bottle into the dishwasher and then add it to your recycling bin.
I was surprised at first to find that method’s unique ingredients do not suds up very well, but rest assured, your dishes are getting clean. I’ve been using this soap for ten months now and I’ve never had to re-do a single dish, and I’m very picky about these things. I’ve read that method has recently changed their dish soap formula slightly to make it a little bubblier, but I wouldn’t know about that as I am still using up the original bottle I purchased last year!
I do have to say, however, I’m not too happy with the current bottle shape. I doubt it will be around much longer, as this is the third bottle shape Method dish soap has been through (the original looked something like the Space Needle…meets nasal aspirator). Still, it can’t be upgraded soon enough for me. The lid does tend to collect soap and become very gooey. My husband has also had problems gripping this bottle. It is shaped like a tear drop, so when it is wet and soapy you have to be careful to avoid launching it across the kitchen! We ended up pouring all of our wonderful method soap into a more conventional dish soap bottle while we wait for the next generation to hit the market. I’m sure it won’t be too much longer.
