Method non-toxic cleaning products have been some of my favorites for the past two years. They have been hard to come by, but my local Bed Bath & Beyond store had a large variety in stock during my last visit. I was over joyed that I didn’t have to wait until October 12 for our Target stores to open, as Target is the main outlet for the Method products.

One of the products I couldn’t wait to try was Methods Grapefruit scented Dish Soap.

Description

This is a tall bottle, holding 25 ounces, and it’s clear so you can see the contents. The pink grapefruit scent has a light pink color (the lavender is purple, the cucumber is green and the “go naked” is clear).

I was a little taken back by the shape of the bottle, it is shaped almost like an oval, except it’s more pointed toward the top cap. The front of the bottle states that the contents are “naturally derived” and that it is “ultra concentrated”. For the record, the picture that Epinions shows here is the old style of the bottle, and I have only seen the newer shape in stores.

Thoughts

I really don’t care for the shape of this bottle, and I would prefer to have an hour glass shape as it is much easier to handle, especially with wet hands. However, that is all a moot point for me, because I have a really nice stoneware dispenser that I pour all of my dish soaps into, and you I can have it sitting right on my counter (looking very attractive!), and nobody will even know what it is.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite dish soaps! The smell is wonderful and really fresh! I don’t know if it really smells like grapefruit but it does have a citrus scent.

Like all of the Method products, this one is also non toxic, and contains all natural ingredients. The cleaner is coconut oil based, and also contains corn alcohol, table salt, citric acid, and ingredients to make it shelf stable. Method goes even farther and adds wonderful aloe vera gel and vitamin E to assure that this will be gentle on the hands! Not only gentle, but actually therapeutic and healing.

All of that is fine and good, but how does this dish soap work? I am pleased to report that this pink grapefruit dish soap is gentle on the hands, but tough on grease and grime. It seems to cut through grease, and the suds are long lasting but still rinse off easily and quickly. Have you ever poured a little too much dish soap into a pan and when it comes time to rinse it off you seem to be rinsing forever to remove all of those suds? That simply doesn’t happen with this Method dish soap.

It is a real pleasure to use, and it makes my kitchen smell fresh and clean. My glassware especially just sparkles! Some of my fine crystal glasses I only wash by hand as I don’t want to risk breaking them in my dishwasher, and this Method dish soap makes them look brand new. I have a feeling I will be buying this product again and again, I love it!

This 25 ounce bottle retails for around $4, which is about the same cost as some of the other natural dish soaps sold in my Fred Meyer natural foods department, so I don’t feel it is over priced. I believe this is a high quality product that gives excellent results.
