O’Neill Twilight sandal features brown leather upper debossed with logo and brown leather footbed debossed and printed with gold trim and "O’Neill" script. Rubber outsole with very small heel. Imported.

Not that I needed another pair of sandals, but I found these at B&B Department store in Beach Haven, NJ, and had to have them. I think they were $32.00. (but you can find them online ON SALE for less than $20.00) Try online surf and skate stores like tillys.com.

O’Neill Twilight is a thong type sandal. It has a faux leather upper with a debossed O’Neill logo. Both colors (brown and gold) have a brown faux leather footbed. The footbed is also debossed with the logo and printed with gold trim and “O’Neill” script and does not have any padding. It has a dark brown rubber sole with a teeny tiny heel, just enough so they aren’t completely flat like a flip flop.

I bought these sandals in gold first. It’s an antique gold crackle metallic; not a crazy metallic. They were great with a pair of jeans and a white shirt for cooler nights at the beach when we’d go out to eat. Adult dinner, where you wanted more than the usual rubber flip flop. Anyway, I loved them so much, I came home and ordered the brown sandals online for 19.97 at tillys.com.

The brown sandals are a deep brown like expresso. The faux leather is extremely soft, so soft, that I was concerned about how they would wear when I bought the gold pair. The upside is that since it’s soft, the thong is very comfortable and won’t irritate between your big toe and second toe. I’ve worn thong styles for so long and I know that some can be uncomfortable.

A comment about the faux leather! I’m shocked. It’s the best imitation I’ve ever seen, or felt. Some websites note leather, and some, including O’Neill indicate faux leather. No wonder they’re so inexpensive, and by the way, do not buy them at Zappos where they are overpriced!!! So far my concern for wear hasn’t been a problem after all. I slide these off and on like I do any other flip flop and the leather is still in great conditon. Hasn’t stretched or pulled out of the sole. I had a really expensive pair from J. Crew and I kept having to take them to a shoe repair shop because the thong kept pulling out. That’s always fun when you’re walking!

What more can I say? Well, fit. I bought down 1 size, and it JUST fits. The next size up, (my usual size) was too floppy on my bony feet. If you have bony feet, you might want to consider a smaller size. My foot does not hang over the front or back but is really at the limit. Most likely the safer choice is your standard size.

They have a slim profile, and they’re not a heavy sandal. The sole is firm so that you don’t feel every bump in the road.

Cute, comfortable, cheap! So what if summer’s over? Get them for next spring and summer! I’ll probably wear mine through October unless it gets really chilly.
