I have thick, parched, flyaway hair. I’ve used a large variety of hair care, all of the products claiming they’d do this and that for my wild hair. More often then not, my results were unsatisfactory.
Much to my relief, Suave is a major producer of generics hair care. In other words, Suave leaves my hair looking and feeling beautiful for lesser than the expensive brands.
Suave Sleek Conditioner is self compared to the Matrix brand sleek.look conditioner. Although I have not yet used Matrix brand products, I have used comparable products - Garnier’s Sleek & Shine - on which I will base my Suave comparison.
Packaging and Purchase Information
Suave Sleek Conditioner is packaged within an upside-down, rectangular, orange bottle. The flat, gray, flip-top cap is very easy to open. Due to the upside down design of the container, I am always able to retrieve the last tiny bit of my conditioner. Each bottle contains 14.5 ounces worth of product. On the back of the conditioner bottle are the following claims:
“Conditions and Smooths… dry or frizzy hair - for less than more expensive brands. Enriched… with Silk Amino Acids to smooth hair as well as Matrix sleek.look conditioner** Softens… and improves hair’s texture, leaving it looking salon-smooth and healthy.”
Suave Sleek Conditioner is sold at Wal-Mart, Target, and Walgreens. The average price for a 14.5 ounce bottle is around $2.
My Experience
I’ve learned first hand to never to be stingy with my hair conditioner. Therefore, I applied a generous amount of the creamy white conditioner through out my hair. The consistency was thick and did not drip.
The conditioner scent is floral and somewhat similar to that of the matching shampoo. Although the scents are not exactly the same, the scents do not clash and are quite complementary to one another.
After letting the rich conditioner sit in my hair for about 20 minutes, I rinsed my hair with warm water. The conditioner rinsed fairly easily and my dripping wet hair was left feeling extremely soft.
After a quick blow dry, my hair was very soft and light, while perhaps 3x smoother than usual. When compared to the “more expensive brand” which left my hair 0x smoother, the results of Suave are extraordinary.
A light, floral scent lingered in my hair throughout the following day due to my use of the conditioner. My hair was left smooth and completely free of flyaway hairs. The smoothness of my hair lasted about 3 days, at which point, it was time for a fresh wash, condition, and blow dry.
Overall
I highly recommend this conditioner. It smells nice and works well with the matching shampoo, smoothing and softening my dry, parched hair. Also, the frugal price tag ain’t half bad either!
