After reading Elzora’s terrific review about her new Lands’ End Trello Slides, I knew I had to get a pair. I ordered them right away from the Land’s End website (landsend.com) and within a few days, they arrived. I’ve now had them for a few days and have to write about these comfy sandals.

To me, Trello Slide Sandals are somewhat similar in idea to the now well-known, Croc Sandals by the fact that they are super comfy and super casual. They also seem to be made of a similar rubber-like material, which is supportive, and yet is pliable and flexible.

Since Sue (Elzora) mentioned the number and I haven’t yet counted, I will agree that these sandals have 21 square vents in the top for air circulation. I have already worn these sandals to work a few times, even the very next day after they arrived at my door. Usually I won’t wear a new pair of shoes to work for a full day until I’ve broken them in. I walk about 10 minutes to work each way from my car (or the bus stop), so I always make sure I have comfy shoes on. (I don’t want to have to deal with painful blisters!) Anyway, my job is very casual in the summer (it’s a college). Oh, what the heck, it’s pretty darn casual here all year round! With these Trello Slides, there was no “breaking in” period to deal with — they’re super comfortable right from the start.

Trello Slides fit the bill here, especially in summer. We live near the beach in California. Trello Slides are great for the beach, at home, running out to do errands, in the garden or just around the house. They are easily slid on and off your feet. If you wear Trello Slides to the beach, you can walk around in the sand and water with them on, no problem. In fact, I wore them to the beach last night when I was walking our pug, Lulu. I threw the ball to her and we both got full of sand and water. The sand was easily rinsed off of my feet and off of the Trello Slides (and not so easily with squirming Lulu.) The Trello soles are excellent too, because even when wet, you will not find yourself sliding around out of control. They have grooves on the bottom that help prevent slipping.

In my haste to order a pair, I paid $19.50 (plus shipping and handling). As soon as I received my Trello Sandals, I looked at the website again, and right NOW you can get a pair for a mere $14.50, the end of summer sale price (although it’s only mid-July). Oh well, I might just order another pair in a wild color and keep them for later! UPDATE: I actually called their toll free number this morning and asked them about the sale price and they quickly agreed to credit me back $5.00, no questions or hassle at all. Lands End people are cool!

The looks of these sandals are fairly utilitarian. I wouldn’t say they are feminine at all. They are made for both men and women, yet look slightly more masculine to me. The sizes on the Lands’ End website guides you so you know which size to order whether you’re male or female. I ordered a size 10, even though I’m usually a size 9-1/2. The Trello Slides fit, but might be a teeny bit on the big side for me. No worries though, because they do not slide off. They also stay on your feet and you won’t find yourself slipping out of them if you walk quickly, for example. (This used to irk me when it happened regularly with a pair of old Dr. Scholl’s sandals.)

The interior of this sandal, where the bottom of your foot sits is especially comfortable, almost feels like a soft chamois-type of cloth. The sides of the Trello sandals curve up slightly, keeping your foot inside of the sandal and therefore, secure. There is conformity built right into the sandal too, giving support in the arch area of your foot. At the front of the Trello, where your toes sit, it is spacious, so your toes will never feel cramped or pinched. By the way, the rubber smell is very minimal and not offensive or strong at all.

There are several colors to choose from, with contrasting insole where the foot sits. They are all attractive and depending on your preference, you should be able to find one that appeals to you. I ordered the brown Trello Slide with tan insole, because I wanted something that would look very much like a traditional sandal. I also thought about ordering a wild color, but then having to match it with what I might be wearing stopped me. (It is sometimes hard to match an outfit with an bright orange sandal, after all.)

I highly recommend this super comfy, lightweight, quality good-priced sandal.
