I was in the mood to try and find a different body wash scent. While I love vanilla, the weather here is getting a bit warmer and I was in the mood for something a bit zestier. While shopping at my local Dollar Store Softsoap Moisturizing Body Wash, Pink Grapefruit Splash caught my eye. While Epinions has this listed as a 12-ounce bottle, mine is a special that Colgate-Palmolive is running right now. For $2.50 I got the 16-ounce size which is 50% more for the 12-ounce price. That sold me right there!!
My bottle of Softsoap Pink Grapefruit Splash, is a Moisturizing Body Wash with Moisture Beads. The bottle itself is actually clear, easy squeeze plastic, and you can easily see the pink grapefruit colored gel with what looks like hundreds of tiny pearls suspended throughout. The pink flip top cap is rounded with a tiny 1/4-inch spout underneath. The label is the same shade of pink with halved pink grapefruit with what looks to be droplets of water.
I of course had to smell this in the store and when opening the cap a lovely fresh pink grapefruit scent was noticed. I love citrus scents also, so I knew this one would be a hit, at least in that department.

When pouring a quarter sized amount onto my pouf I could again smell the wonderful pink grapefruit scent, the gel was thick and piled up slightly before spreading. The one thing I was disappointed in was that the pearls were really not pearls, but more like tiny bubbles. As soon as I tried to touch one to see if they were hard, it popped. I guess that is what they mean by moisture beads.
Softsoap Pink Grapefruit Splash did make a lot of pink grapefruit smelling lather that was even good for shaving. But as soon as I rinsed and dried off the scent seemed to be gone from my skin. It did seem to rinse completely away, leaving no residue. I could still smell it in the bathroom for a short time afterward which was pleasant.
I honestly cannot tell a difference in the softness of my skin. Of course I have been out in the sun and my skin may be a bit on the dry side to begin with, but there was certainly no miraculous change.
There seemed to be no razor burn at all, but I did apply a bit of lotion to my legs afterwards.

While I was disappointed that the scent didn’t linger I have no problem with using up the rest of my Softsoap Moisturizing Body Wash, Pink Grapefruit Splash. Even though it does look nice with all the tiny bubbles I can still only rate this average. 3 Stars.
